Abide in Him

In John 15:5, Jesus said “I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.” The word “abide” means to remain, to dwell, to stay, its a continual dependence. You don’t depend once a week or just when you feel like it. No, if you’re going to depend on Jesus, you need to keep your faith rooted in what Jesus did for you at the cross, then all through the day your attitude should be, “Jesus, I need You. Jesus, help me to understand what I’m reading. Jesus, help me to raise these children.” The more you depend on Jesus, the better things will work out and you will bear much fruit (which is becoming more Christ like.)  If we take the opposite of what Jesus said. If we don’t depend on Him, we’re not going to bear much fruit. We’re not going to be as productive as we could have been. Today, choose to abide in Him. Find strength in Him, live in the victory He achieved on the Cross and let Him empower you for everything you face in this life. George
