Are you using your talents?

Matthew 25:21, “Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!” This week I have been thinking about the Parable of the Talents in Matthew 25:14-30. From the parable, I recognise that God gives talents to every person. These talents vary from person to person. However, we have to give account of these gifts to their owner. The two servants that used their talents wisely received positive praise. As shown by the verse I highlighted, they were both commended. The parable separates those that used their talents wisely, from the third servant, who disobeyed simple instructions of the master. This story is not about helping us to feel good about the gifts and talents we have. He was challenging us to think about how we use those gifts and skills.

• How are you using the talents God has given you?
• Are there any talents that God has given you that you may be burying in the ground?
