Be Encouragers!

I wonder, do you still write letters? Somehow handwritten letters seem more personal than emails or texts; they take time and effort. Even before the words are read, you have sent something that no one else could send which has to be a great way to encourage someone and build a relationship. Letters can and do change lives. In reading Paul’s last letter to Timothy I have been challenged by the way in which Paul seeks to hand on the torch of leadership to his young friend, reminding him of what is truly important, and encouraging him in his walk with Jesus. We all need to be encouragers as we remember that although ‘The Church is looking for better methods; God is looking for better men, for better women. What the Church needs today is not more machinery or better methods or new organisations, but men and women whom the Holy Spirit can use – men and women of prayer. (E.M.Bounds)’. Bryan
