Do you need to be re-written?

I am a fan of letters; they used to be a staple form of communication, sending news, keeping war-separated lovers connected or a way to make a friend half way around the world. Letters can record our personal thoughts, our reflections in a way that a text or an email, although more convenient, sadly fail. A couple of weeks ago I had occasion to write a letter to one of my daughters. It was one of those situations where I knew that only a letter could convey all that I wanted to say. Finding a good pen was the easy part, locating a writing pad somewhat more difficult and then came the hard part, reflecting carefully on the words and ensuring it was legible……..no spell check or delete button! 2 Cor.3.3 says: “Clearly, you are a letter from Christ showing the result of our ministry among you. This “letter” is written not with pen and ink, but with the Spirit of the living God. It is carved not on tablets of stone, but on human hearts”(NLT). Are you happy for others to ‘read you like a letter’? Each of our lives is a letter from Jesus to those who cross our path so let your heart be open to the work of His Spirit who may want to re-write some of the old text! Bryan
