Seek Him First

“11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:11-13 New International Version (NIV) This verse holds a special place in my heart and I was blessed again when it was one of my daily readings this week. They were spoken to the Israelites when they had just learned that they would be exiled from Babylon. How often do our lives seem not to make sense? The truth in these verses can give us a new perspective. God’s eternal plans for us were established before the foundations of the world! But what do we have to do? We need to seek him wholeheartedly, pray earnestly and trust in His plans for our future. Martin Thompson reminded us of the importance of prayer so let us remember to ‘Seek Him first’ in all that we do so that He can lead us to where He wants us to be. Ali
