The Importance of Children

Matthew 18 About that time the disciples came to Jesus to ask which of them would be greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven! Jesus called a small child over to him and set the little fellow down among them, and said, “Unless you turn to God from your sins and become as little children, you will never get into the Kingdom of Heaven. Therefore anyone who humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven. And any of you who welcomes a little child like this because you are mine is welcoming me and caring for me.” These verses spoke to me.  We are preparing for Christmas which celebrates the birth of baby Jesus and last Sunday we had a presentation in our zoom service from The Children’s Society.  We learnt of their important work both locally and within Government policy focussed on helping vulnerable children in our society.

Here are some campaigns they are focussed on: Our Campaigns | The Children’s Society

We all need to look to try and help those who are vulnerable and at this time of year my focus is on children as we remember the birth of Jesus. Stay safe and enjoy this Christmas – thinking of the birth of Jesus and the importance of children in our communities. Claire
