Following government advice, we’ve taken the difficult decision to cancel all events at the church for the foreseeable future. This includes Craft and Chat, Toddlers and Generate, as well as Sunday services and the church walks. During this difficult time, please look after yourselves and your neighbours. Make sure you have a couple of telephone numbers of friends you can call on in an emergency, and contact elderly neighbours to see if you can offer any practical advice.  If you’re stuck, please contact us via email: info@westdentonchurch.co.uk

Various churches are attempting to live stream a form of Sunday service (without a congregation!). If you have the technology please try clicking here this Sunday at 10.30am and you will be able to view a service from Jesmond Parish Church, or here at 11 a.m. for the service from Regent Chapel in Gosforth.

Each day during Holy Week, we’ll have a series of reflections to help you prepare for Easter Day. For each day there is a word to contemplate throughout that day followed by a verse to help you reflect on the Easter story:

Wednesday: ‘BREAD’

Mark 14:22. While they were eating, Jesus took a piece of bread, gave a prayer of thanks, broke it, and gave it to his disciples. “Take it,” he said, “this is my body.”

We’d also like to encourage you all to contribute something towards an Easter Sunday Celebration.  We want to ask young and old to produce something which celebrates the Resurrection and the new life we have in Christ.  Here are a few suggestions but we want you to do ‘your own thing’:

  • Draw or paint a picture
  • Make a Lego model or use toys to recreate the tomb scene
  • Arrange some flowers
  • Create something in your garden
  • Family ‘dressing up’ as characters
  • Construct a collage
  • Write a poem

We want to share these as widely as possible now, but we’d also like you to keep what you produce, if you can, for when we meet again to Praise the Risen Lord Jesus together.

Here is how to share now:

Take a photo of your contribution and email, whatsapp, message, or messenger to Anita or Ian, or email via info@westdentonchurch.co.uk. If this is not possible and it can be posted, then Royal Mail it, or put it in Anita and Ian’s mail box by the gate if you are out on another journey.  They will be sanitized!

If you could do this before Good Friday we will aim to share them on Easter Sunday!

Thank You (in excited anticipation!)
