What is God preparing you to do?

So this week we have been reading chapter 10 of Joshua. My goodness me, Joshua has had more wars and battles but in each one, God has brought him through when he was obedient to God’s word. What has struck me as we have been studying Joshua has been that Joshua knew the Lord’s voice and acted upon it. Bryan encouraged us to read Ephesians 2 verses 4 to 5 before reading Joshua 10 and we used the first part of this chapter as a focus in our afternoon Zoom meeting last week: Verses 4 & 5 state: ‘But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!) ‘. It is important to understand that there’s nothing that we can do to earn God’s provision and love but that we need to seek Him first and then everything will become clear. His love and grace are a gift, freely given but we need to accept His authority in our lives and follow Him in order to allow Him to create us to be the vessels He wants us to be. Verse 10 states: ‘10 For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.’ What is God preparing you to do? We live in very different times to Joshua culturally but there are still battles to be won in the Lord’s name so that we can grow His Kingdom in our community and beyond.   Ali
