Be strong and courageous!

‘… As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you. 6 Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their ancestors to give them.’ Joshua 1 vs 5b to 6. This week we have started to read the book of Joshua as a fellowship. When we met as small groups we were encouraged to read a passage and see what shocked us and what blocked us. Did anything jump out of the page? When I was reading this passage the verses above really stood out to me. Since John Paul retired the leadership has been trying to listen to God as to what journey He is preparing for us and I felt that these verses were a real encouragement to us all. God will never leave us or forsake us and we have really seen His hand working in our fellowship as He has brought new people to our meetings. What about the bigger picture? We are so aware of all of the worries surrounding Covid-19 at the moment but we need to give God
sovereignty in this and allow Him to lead our community, country and nation closer to Him. Let’s continue to develop our spiritual ears and come to know His voice more clearly so that we can lead our community to Him. Ali
