Builders Needed!

Psalm 127 v 1: “Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labour in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain.” It’s an ongoing theme – we’ve been living with this pandemic for such a long time but we’ve been both grateful and amazed at God’s provision during the period of lockdown and the restrictions we’ve all endured. God is working His purposes out and watching over the city, as the Psalmist notes. We met as elders to pray this week, indoors in church, going from room to room and lifting our building, our contacts, our people and our future to God in prayer. It’s so important that it’s God that builds the house! As we prepare to inhabit the building again we want to go forward with the gospel of Jesus. There are tasks to do and volunteers needed to get things ready. We all need to be preparing in prayer for all that God has in store for us so we’re going to meet each day in church to pray and prepare from 20th to 26th June, ready for our opening celebration on 27th June! Please get involved. We are all part of the body of Christ. We all need to commit to prayer together. On Monday 21st June we’re going to have a day of prayer and also fasting. We’d like to encourage all who can join with us to seek God as we fast for the 12 hours from 9 til 9 that God will show us His purposes and direction and that He will equip us for the task of serving as a renewed church family, ready to engage in the spiritual battle that lies ahead. We’ll meet on Monday and for each of the following days in church at 2.30 pm to pray and then to do any other tasks to make sure we’re ready to open our doors on 27th June. We’ll also have opportunity to meet in the evening for those who can’t do daytime events. (Please note: We want to encourage all to fast and pray but please be aware of any medical issues you may have that would make it unwise for you to fast.) Acts 2 v 42 “They devoted themselves to the apostles teaching, and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer” v 47 “… and the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.” May it be God’s will for us too! Ian
