Where does your help come from?

I lift up my eyes to the mountains – where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.’ Psalm 121 : 1 – 2

This verse was shared with us last week by Ryan McNair who was due to speak to us at West Denton Church. I found this particularly apt in these ‘unprecedented’ times as we do need to rely on God for our strength, encouragement and courage to face each new day. It also links with the adventures of Joshua which we are exploring as a church at the moment. Time after time the Lord sustained and provided for the people of Israel when they were obedient to His instructions. I am being challenged more each day to learn what God’s voice sounds like and listen out for him. Do we have the courage to wait on God and do as we feel He is leading and risk making fools of ourselves in the eyes of the world? As I walk past all the rainbows in windows they serve as a reminder that Noah built an ark and bore the ridicule of others when he obeyed God and yet God saved him and his family.

When Richard and I were preparing the Zoom meeting last Sunday we came across this video of Psalm 121 and I would like to encourage you to have a look at it and learn to trust more deeply on the Lord your helper and sustainer.
